Terms & Conditions for the Supply of Services
Solo Dog Walking, Home Visits, Dog Sitting, Overnight & Live-In Sitting

1. Registration
a. All clients are required to complete and submit an online enquiry registration form.
b. Connie’s Canine Care will inform you in writing if we are unable to accept your enquiry.
c. An in-home pre-service visit is required within 28 days of submitting registration prior to commencement of any services.
d. The information provided during the registration process and in-home pre-service visit will form part of the contract of the Order.
2. Booking
a. The Order for Services will be set out and sent to you by electronic invoice along with these Terms & Conditions.
b. You must inform Connie’s Canine Care immediately if you discover you have made a mistake with the Order. Connie’s Canine Care will endeavour to meet the changes, but it can not guarantee to do so.
3. Services
a. Connie’s Canine Care will carry out the services to the best of its ability as set out in the Order. Connie’s Canine Care reserves the right at its absolute discretion during the Term to make revision to the Order as set out in clauses 6; 7; 8; 9; 11; 15.
b. Connie’s Canine Care may provide approximate time slots in which it will carry out the Service, however, Connie’s Canine Care can not guarantee these time slots for reasons beyond Connie’s Canine Care’s reasonable control.
c. Services will not commence until payment has been received in full.
d. Connie’s Canine Care will not hold or reserve dates unless payment has been received in full.
e. If you are delayed on return, you must inform Connie’s Canine Care immediately and we will use our best endeavours to make alternative arrangements for continued cover at an additional cost to you.
4. Price
a. The Price for the Service is as set out in the Order and is exclusive of the cost of any goods or services Connie’s Canine Care is required to purchase during the Term of the Service (including but not limited to food, cleaning products, vet bills and medications).
b. Connie’s Canine Care accepts payment by BACS. Details of which will be provided on the invoice.
c. Payments are due upon receipt of the invoice, unless otherwise stated on the invoice.
d. Payments for additional Goods or Services as set out above is due within 24 hours or upon your return.
e. Payments made as set out in the Order is acceptance of these Terms and you agree to make payments on time.
f. Where payment is not received as set out in the Order and in accordance with these Terms, Connie’s Canine Care reserve the right to not proceed with the Services agreed and the client will be subject to a Cancellation Fee as set out in clause 5b.
g. We reserve the right to impose charges and or terminate the Service if the Order changes or a change in the nature of the Order which is unforeseen.
5. Cancellations
a. Cancellations must be given in writing
b. All cancellations are subject to an admin fee of £15 plus retention by Connie’s Canine Care of the following percentages of any monies paid in respect of the Contract:
          i. Cancellation between 42 days and 29 days of the Service date: 25%
          ii. Cancellation between 28 days and 15 days of the Service date: 50%
          iii. Cancellation between 14 days and 3 days of the Service date: 75%
          iv. Cancellation 2 days or less: 100%
c. Connie’s Canine Care will use its best endeavours to fill a cancellation date, but it can not guarantee it will do so due to the nature of the Service it provides. If Connie’s Canine Care successfully fills the cancellation spot, it will refund back to you any monies retained as set out in clause 5b, exclusive of the admin fee.
d. Connie’s Canine Care reserve the right to retain any monies paid if the account is in arrears at the time of the Cancellation.
e. Cancelled bookings with more than 7 days notice may be transferred to another date, subject to availability, and will be subject to an admin fee as set out in clause 5b.
f. Connie’s Canine Care reserve the right to release your date(s) and or Terminate the Contract for repeat cancellations during a rolling 4-week period.
g. If you wish to Terminate the Contract for Services provided, you must inform Connie’s Canine Care in writing giving 7 days notice.
h. Connie’s Canine Care carefully schedules our appointments and bookings to service you and other clients, therefore refunds or credits will not be given for early returns or last-minute changes to the Service.
6. Force Majeure
a. Connie’s Canine Care will not be liable to you in any manner whatsoever for any failure or delay or for the consequences of any failure or delay in performance of any contract if it is due to any event beyond Connie’s Canine Care’s reasonable control. If the event causing the delay continues for a period in excess of three months then either you or Connie’s Canine Care will be entitled to terminate the Contract by written notice to the other and Connie’s Canine Care‘s only liability to you will be to refund to you all sums paid under the contract in respect of Services which have not been performed.
7. Dog Behaviour
a. Connie’s Canine Care will not accept any dog(s) who;
          i. Shows any signs of aggression.
          ii. Is registered under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991
          iii. Is untrained and/or unruly and poses a risk to themselves, Connie’s Canine Care, another animal, or a member of the public.
          iv. Has been used as a guard dog, police dog, for hunting or for any purpose whereby it would be trained to attack.
          v. Has attacked another dog or person.
          vi. Has any behavioural problems.
          vii. Can not be left alone, in relation to Dog Sitting, overnight care or live-in sitting.
b. You have disclosed a true representation of the dog(s) behaviour during the Registration process and pre-service visit in relation to clause 7a.
c. You immediately inform Connie’s Canine Care of any changes to the dog(s) behaviour whereby it is possible to cause harm or injury to itself, Connie’s Canine Care, another animal, or a member of the public.
d. Connie’s Canine Care reserve the right to revise and or end the Service and or terminate the Contract should the dog(s) present with any behavioural changes either prior to, during or after the Service. Connie’s Canine Care will inform you immediately of any such behaviour changes. A refund will not be issued.
e. You agree to be responsible for all costs (including but not limited to medical care, veterinary bills and legal fees) should your dog(s) cause injury or harm to another animal or person.
f. Dogs in season will not be walked, but will receive visits for comfort care only.
g. Your dog(s) must be able to be left alone for up to 3 hours, in relation to live-in sitting. This will be the maximum time left at any one time up to 6 hours in a 24 hour period.
8. Vaccinations, Parasite Treatment & Medications
a. Connie’s Canine Care will not accept any dog who is not up to date with vaccinations or parasite treatment. You are required to present an up-to-date vaccination record during the Registration process and before any Service commences.
b. You are responsible for parasite surveillance on a regular basis and for treatment against fleas, ticks and mites using veterinary prescribed products.
c. Connie’s Canine Care will inform you immediately and reserve the right to postpone, amend or cancel the Service if parasites are found upon your dog(s) or within your home. In relation to Dog Sitting, Overnight Care and Live-in Sitting, Connie’s Canine Care will use its best endeavours to treat the dog(s) and your home with suitable veterinary prescribed products.
d. You are responsible for the costs of any parasitic treatments in which Connie’s Canine Care have purchased in relation to clause 8c.
e. Kennel Cough isn’t required but is advised.
f. You must inform Connie’s Canine Care immediately if your dog(s) has an active contagious disease. Connie’s Canine Care reserve the right to postpone, amend or cancel the Service until the dog(s) are clear of disease. A refund will not be given.
g. We will not walk ill dogs or dogs known to have an infection due to the risk of cross-contamination and zoonosis.
h. You agree to be responsible for all costs (including but not limited to medical care, veterinary bills, loss of income) should Connie’s Canine Care, another animal or a member of the public become exposed to any disease or ailment from your dog(s) due to insufficient vaccinations, treatments or failing to inform Connie’s Canine Care.
i. Connie’s Canine Care will administer medications and or treatments as directed but cannot be held responsible for any complications which may arise as a result.
9. Kennel Cough
a. Connie’s Canine Care take every precaution to prevent contact with dogs who present with Kennel Cough, however, Connie’s Canine Care cannot guarantee this due to the incubation period and we cannot be held liable if your dog contracts Kennel Cough. We strongly advise you seek veterinary assistance with regards to your dog receiving the Kennel Cough vaccination.
10. Veterinary Treatment
a. You agree and authorise Connie’s Canine Care to take any action they consider necessary and suitable in relation to your dog’s health and welfare.
b. You agree and authorise Connie’s Canine Care to seek veterinary advice and or treatment in any event where Connie’s Canine Care deems it necessary to do so in relation to your dog’s health and welfare.
c. You accept all liability of any costs in relation to any veterinary care and treatment your dog receives whilst in Connie’s Canine Care’s care.
d. You will settle all costs directly with the veterinary surgery and release Connie’s Canine Care from any liability of any costs incurred.
e. Connie’s Canine Care accepts no liability in the unlikely event that your dog(s) become ill, suffers an injury, or passes away in their care. If the illness or injury cannot be sufficiently managed by Connie’s Canine Care, you or your named emergency contact will be informed to arrange immediate alternative provisions. It is your responsibility to ensure your emergency contact is aware of this arrangement.
11. Keys
a. For Connie’s Canine Care to carry out the Service, Connie’s Canine Care will obtain a copy of your house key during the pre-service visit. The key will be held in a secure, coded safe.
b. The key will be client identifiable to Connie’s Canine Care only. Connie’s Canine Care will obtain a copy of your key for convenience in case of loss by either party.
c. If in the event you do not issue Connie’s Canine Care with a copy of your key and instead arrange a suitable safe place for key collection, Connie’s Canine Care cannot be held liable for any loss or damage caused to your property and or possessions.
d. You may ask for the return of your keys at any time by contacting Connie’s Canine Care.
e. At the end of the service, if you request for the key(s) to be left on the property, posted through the letterbox, or left with a third party, Connie’s Canine Care accepts no liability for your keys, and or any loss and or damage to your property and or its contents which may occur as a result.
12. Collars, harnesses, leads & ID Tags
a. It is a legal requirement for all dogs to wear an ID tag displaying the owners name and address. All dogs are required to wear a collar with an ID tag whilst in our care, which must be provided by you.
b. Connie’s Canine Care will provide an ID tag displaying Connie’s Canine Care‘s details, which must be worn at all times whilst in our care if you are away on holiday.
c. All dogs must be microchipped in accordance with the Microchipping of Dogs regulations 2015. It is the responsibility of you to ensure the details of the microchip are up to date.
d. Connie’s Canine Care will scan your dog(s) during the pre-service visit and reserve the right to cancel the Contract if your dog(s) is not microchipped and report it to the relevant authority.
e. Connie’s Canine Care reserve the right to use its own collars, leads and or harnesses if in their opinion it is safer for the dog(s) and Connie’s Canine Care.
f. Your dog will be always walked on-lead. Your dog will only be walked off-lead if we have received your written permission and Connie’s Canine Care deem it safe to do so in relation to the environment, recall and behaviour.
g. We will not walk dogs who wear shock, spike or choke collars. We will not engage in any negative punishment.
h. If adequate or sufficient walking aids cannot be provided, Connie’s Canine Care will postpone, amend, or cancel the Services and or Contract. A refund will not be given.
13. Home & Garden Security & Safety
a. Connie’s Canine Care does not accept any responsibility or liability if your home and or garden is not adequately secure in preventing your dog(s) from escaping or causing themselves an injury.
b. Connie’s Canine Care cannot accept any liability for any loss and or injury to your dog(s) if they have access to an unlocked cat flap.
c. You understand and agree that it may be necessary to transport your dog in our vehicle if an emergency arises. Your dog(s) will be transported in the boot/rear of the vehicle in accordance with The Road Traffic Act 1991.
d. For the purpose of personal privacy, any indoor CCTV surveillance will be turned off when Connie's Canine Care is present on the property during any siting service.
14. Pet Waste
a. Connie’s Canine Care will properly dispose of all dog waste in accordance with The Clean Neighbourhoods & Environment Act 2005.
b. In instances where we cannot dispose of waste in the public space, we will dispose of it in your general waste bin.
c. You must ensure there is a sufficient quantity of waste bags for the duration of the Service and that we have access to your general waste bin.
15. Cleaning & Comfort
a. Connie’s Canine Care will use its discretion and best endeavours to ensure your dog(s) environment is clean and tidy during and at the end of the Service. Connie’s Canine Care will use only materials provided and in view unless you have given Connie’s Canine Care instructions and permission to retrieve materials from cupboards and or other rooms.
b. Connie’s Canine Care will, in relation to dog sitting, overnight sitting and live-in sitting, ensure housecleaning duties are carried out and leave the property as it was found.
c. Please ensure your thermostat settings are within a normal comfortable range. Connie’s Canine Care will adjust these settings to ensure the comfort and well being of your dog(s) if the settings are outside of this range. We will inform you or your emergency contact.
16. Inclement Weather
a. Connie’s Canine Care will continue to provide the Service or provide an alternative Service unless, in the opinion of Connie’s Canine Care, it is unsafe for your dog(s) and or Connie’s Canine Care to do so.
b. Connie’s Canine Care will inform you of any decisions made and, if any, alternative arrangements.
17. Other Persons
a. Connie’s Canine Care may have either a spouse, other family member or a companion to accompany them during the Service, at no additional cost to the client. This will usually be done when there may be an issue with personal safety.
18. Dog Sitting, Overnight & Live-In Sitting
a. Connie’s Canine Care will only use appliances in relation to the Service for the care of your dog(s) and for the need of food and drink preparation and comfort breaks, unless you have given permission for Connie’s Canine Care to use any other appliances not in relation to the Service being carried out.
b. Connie’s Canine Care may request access to the TV and internet.
c. Full operational instructions must be left in relation to appliances, including but not limited to; TV, internet, washing machine, oven/hob, shower, heating, alarm system, security doors/gates, windows & doors.
d. Please inform Connie’s Canine Care of your refuse collection days and the relevant coloured bin.
e. You must inform Connie’s Canine Care if anyone will have access and or is expected to visit your home during the Service term, ie, family members, cleaner, etc. You understand that you will notify any third parties with access to your home that Connie’s Canine Care have engaged in providing Services.
19. Additional Purchases
a. If additional items need to be purchased, ie, food, cleaning supplies or other items deemed necessary for the health and welfare of your dog(s), Connie’s Canine Care will purchase these and retain the receipt for your records and reimbursement.
20. Dog & Owner Information, Details & Updates
a. You must inform Connie’s Canine Care of any changes to yours or your emergency contact details, your dog(s) care needs, veterinary information, and any other details pertinent to the Service.
b. Connie’s Canine Care take reasonable care to ensure the integrity and suitability of the care provided.
c. Connie’s Canine Care has valid public liability insurance, relevant checks, and training for the peace of mind of all its clients.
d. The insurance covers Connie’s Canine Care for the duration of the Service and only for the Service(s) agreed.
e. It is your responsibility to ensure that your property, its contents and your dog(s) are adequately insured throughout the duration of the Service
21. Connie’s Canine Care Annual Leave
a. Connie’s Canine Care will aim to give you four weeks’ notice of our annual leave
b. Connie’s Canine Care will aim to give you two weeks’ notice for any single day holidays.
22. Holidays
a. You must provide four weeks’ notice to Connie’s Canine Care of any annual leave which results in our Service(s) not being required.
b. You must provide two weeks’ notice to Connie’s Canine Care for any single day holidays which results in our Service(s) not being required.
c. You understand that full payment is required where you have failed to give notice as set out in clause 22a; 22b.
23. Limitation of Liability, Indemnity & Warranties
a. You agree to indemnify, keep indemnified and hold harmless Connie’s Canine Care from and against all direct, indirect, or consequential loss (all three of which terms include, but are not limited to, loss of profits, loss of business, depletion of goodwill and similar loss), liabilities, injuries, damages, claims, demands, proceedings or legal costs and judgements which Connie’s Canine Care incurs or suffers because of direct or indirect breach of any of the provisions of clause 6.
b. Connie’s Canine Care warrants that the Services will be carried out with reasonable care and skill. Connie’s Canine Care shall, at its option, remedy, repeat, reduce the Price of or refund the Price of Services that do not comply with this clause if You provide Connie’s Canine Care with sufficient written details the nature and extent of the defect.
c. Connie’s Canine Care does not exclude its liability (if any) to You for personal injury to or death of humans resulting from Connie’s Canine Care‘s negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation or for any matter for which Connie’s Canine Care may not exclude or to attempt to exclude its liability.
d. Connie’s Canine Care is responsible to You for foreseeable loss and damage caused by Connie’s Canine Care. If Connie’s Canine Care fail to comply with these Terms, Connie’s Canine Care is responsible for loss or damage You suffer that is a foreseeable result of Connie’s Canine Care breaking this Contract or Connie’s Canine Care failing to use reasonable care and skill, but Connie’s Canine Care is not responsible for any loss or damage that is not foreseeable. Loss or damage is foreseeable if either it is obvious that it will happen or if, at the time the Contract was made, both Connie’s Canine Care and You knew it might happen, for example, if You discussed it with Connie’s Canine Care during the registration and or pre-service visit.
e. Subject to conditions 23c and 23d, Connie’s Canine Care’s liability under this Contract for any injury, death, damage, or loss however caused will be limited to the sum of £650.
f. Connie’s Canine Care is not liable for business losses. Connie’s Canine Care only supply Services for domestic and private use. If You use the Services for any commercial, business or re-sale purpose Connie’s Canine Care will have no liability to You for any loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, or loss of business opportunity.
g. Connie’s Canine Care shall not be liable to you or be deemed to be in breach of these Terms by reason of any delay in performing, or failure to perform any or all its obligations in relation to the Services if the delay or failure was due to reasons beyond Connie’s Canine Care ‘s reasonable control.
h. You agree to fully indemnify Connie’s Canine Care against any losses or injuries to a third party or damage to property caused by your dog(s), excepting that of proven third party. You are fully liable for the costs of any damages incurred by your dog(s). You understand that no liability will attach to Connie’s Canine Care.
i. Connie’s Canine Care will not be liable for any damages or injuries caused by your dog excepting that of proven third party.
j. Connie’s Canine Care cannot be held liable for any theft or damage to your property or injury/illness to your dog(s) unless we can be shown to be negligent.
k. Connie’s Canine Care does not accept liability for other persons who will be in your home prior to, during or immediately after the Services have been rendered.
l. You accept these Terms and Conditions as set out, which are subject to change without notice.
